Cairo Jazz Club LLC was established 10 years ago by 3 young entrepreneurs who recognized the city's need for a venue that offered quality upscale services within a homely atmosphere. When Cairo Jazz Club opened its swinging doors in 2001, it has filled many gaps in the otherwise buzzing nightlife scene of Cairo Egypt, as a mainstream alternative hot spot for a mature clientele.

Cairo Jazz Club’s prize possession is its stage, which over the past 10 years has been the starting ground for many great local performers from Fathy Salama, Wust El Balad to Screwdriver. Top local musicians and internationally acclaimed artists have been introduced to CJC’s stage on many occasions. CJC also had the opportunity of supporting many bands, that later-on became well recognized local and international acts.

Ultimately, 10 years on the Club has sustained itself well with a very simple philosophy: "What we serve is good moods". For anyone who takes pleasure in great food, amazing tranquil interior setting and classy multicultural crowds; Cairo Jazz Club will definitely be your top perky nightspot.

From the get go, a fundamental essential to the Cairo Jazz Club experience was its stage, instrumental in the evolution of Cairo's independent music scene. Cairo Jazz Club has always platformed fresh talent leading to why most of the city’s top end bands such as Wust EL Balad and Screwdriver were born on that stage. Not forgetting the stage till now is a regular host to the finest live acts in town and may acclaimed international artists from all corners of the world. The Club is rightly recognized as the "capital" of live music in the city.

Behind CJC’s identity and during the design process Cairo Jazz Club was very lucky to work with different creative artistic talents. Karine Ghaly: CJC Artist responsible for the unique characters.
If you ever wondered who was the creative mastermind behind the Jazz Club drawings and designs, look no further than artist Karine Ghaly.
Born in Alexandria Egypt, Karine graduated from the University of Fine Art Alexandria and went onto attend courses at St Martin’s College of art and design in London.
Karine used her love of Egypt and Music to help influence the logo and drawings for Cairo Jazz Club.
By combining her creative imagination with modern twist she was able to create a feel of freedom and relaxed ambiance matching CJC’s theme. Karine also acknowledges CJC's owners for having a big impact on the creative process and final designs.
Karine has had exhibitions at the Ostia Lido's Art Gallery in Rome. Waterloo's Art Gallery in Brussels, the Crédit Mutuel in France, Spanish Cultural Center and various locations in Cairo such as International Cultural Center for Cooperation.

Amr Farouk
Artist, designer and Ganoub’s gallery owner Amr Farouk is the craftsman behind the series of intriguing paintings hung inside Cairo Jazz Club.
Amr Farouk was a painter from his early days as a curious child. Born in Cairo, Amr moved to Sinai from the age of 15 and lived a Bedouin lifestyle over the following 22 years. Moving from one area to another, spending a lot of time in the mountains Amr’s artistic talents developed at a rapid rate, excelling him to greater spiritual enlightenment. His travels and free living attitude is very represented in his artworks found at Ganoub and also shown in the special Cairo Jazz Club paintings.

Mahmoud Fahmy
Cool and collected Egyptian freelance designer Mahmoud Fathy brought the CJC drawings to life. He has been responsible for all the printed materials CJC has produced including the creative and upbeat series of posters and flyers CJC generated for bands and festivals.
Mahmoud studied design at faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo and work for numerous organizations such as Promo 7 and LOWE Egypt.

Live Music Specialists.

A new division of Cairo Jazz Club has been created with the direct purpose of developing the music scene in Egypt, by acting mainly as a talent booking agency. Platforming the country’s local talents and booking suitable performers for different venues and events, CJC Agency encourages more local and international awareness for Egyptian talented musicians.

During 2010 The Cairo Jazz Club Agency organized two major events the first being the Artbeat Festival that ran from 10th- 13th June. Artbeat combined arts, crafts and music from local and international artists across three different venues in Cairo and one venue in El Minya (Upper Egypt). The purpose was to blend different genres, sounds and arts for a wide audience to appreciate and enjoy.

‘Mawaweel’, the second event organized by the Cairo Jazz Club Agency that took place over three weekends during August- September (Ramadan). The event line up differed each weekend and included star performances from legend Fathy Salama and Yehia Khalil alongside many of Cairo’s most loved musicians, as well as theatrical performances, pantomimes and folkloric storytelling.

Cairo Jazz Club Agency’s aim is to manage all performances from start to finish, keeping it simple and effortless for the artists, venues and audiences. Our hands on team of professionals are equipped with the musical and marketing knowledge to ensure all parties are completely satisfied with events we handle.
